I am one very blessed lady. 

I have the best friends in the world and I am so thankful for them. 

This past Friday evening, my very best friends threw me and Adelee the most amazing baby shower. 

Adelee, you are one very loved and prayed for little girl. 

(And now you will be the best dressed too. :))

There were sweet presents and the most beautiful decorations and such yummy southern themed food, but my favorite part of the shower wass the time we spent in the Word and the time we spent in prayer. 

I am so blessed by these women who spent the evening praying over me, my husband, my boys, and my sweet Adelee.

Thank you sweet friends!

Easter Party!

Our church hosted a little Easter party on Easter weekend that was so adorable and so much fun that I just had to show you some of the sweet details.

We set up a little photo booth to take pictures with the Easter bunny. I love our little family picture above despite our lack of coordinating outfits. ha. Please note that we have just about every pattern represented between the 4 of us. :)

Asher was not into the Easter bunny.  

 

{Decor}

I had a lot of fun coming up with table decor for this little party. I used candy that was leftover from stuffing the eggs to fill mason jars, tied coordinating ribbon around and added a peep on a stick. Super cute and edible! I added the little signs with bags so the guests could make their own treat bag to take home with them.

{Activities}

We had an Easter egg hunt for all the little ones. Of course Asher with his enormous sweet tooth was loving every minute!

I set up a basket making station as well for everyone to have a way to gather all their eggs during the egg hunt (just in case someone forgot to bring a basket.) Paper bags plus ribbon, paint and glitter is always a fun time! 

We had a bubble station complete with diy bubble wands made out of pipe cleaners!

Also, on the tables were coloring books and cups of crayons for the little ones to enjoy. My theory is that you can never have too many options for children when it comes to keeping them entertained!

There was a bouncy house and of course we had games! We set up tents, banners, and supplies leftover from our huge church Easter event last year. The little ones loved it!

Asher Turns 2!

 We celebrated Asher's 2nd birthday with a candy themed party. 

Much to my demise his most favorite of things includes anything with sugar. 

The invitations were so much fun to create and I loved how they turned out.

 

Guests were welcomed with a few balloons and a Happy Birthday message!

At the front door a bowl of smarties and a large wooden 2 gave hints as to what was waiting inside.

 I am kind of obsessed with how adorable this little cake turned out. I made Martha Stewart's Vanilla Vanilla cupcakes and used the remaining batter to make a two layer cake. I added a teeny bit of food coloring to have the layers be orange and green. Inspiration for the cake found here.

I am also slightly obsessed with how adorable the dessert table turned out as well as those sweet little marshmallow treats. Not only are they super sweet but they are cute decorations as well (and so easy to make! Dip marshmallow in melted candy coating and then dip in sprinkles.)

String lanterns hung from the ceiling for an extra bit of color and fun. (Tutorial found here.) I loved how they turned out and think they would be a whimsical addition to any little one's room. My nephew now has these hanging in his room. :)

 

Little treat bags for the guests to fill with candy! 

Our original plan for the party was to have games in the backyard for all the little ones, but a few days before the party, the weather was hinting at a possibility of rain so I had the task of coming up with some entertaining ideas that could take place indoors. I found this inspiration for the table and thought it was such a cute idea (scan down through the party photos to see how they set up their eating space.) So, I lined our large dining room table with white paper, painted 'place settings' and added a centerpiece of balloons. 

I purchased a digital coloring book from a fellow etsy seller, Emmi Grace Kids and printed it for all of our little guests. For easy binding, I added a solid coverstock page for the cover, hole punched the corners and used a D-ring to keep together. The little guests loved this activity and were excited to take them home too. I would recommend this for any party! So easy!

 The Birthday Boy!!! 

How cute is that picture of him with the bat?! He was so excited!

(P.S. The homemade pinata turned out great except on the outside... it kind of looked like a dinasaur egg! haha. I ran out of time to actually decorate the thing as planned when we realized I had forgotten to put a hook in it to actually hang it. We spent the rest of the afternoon trying to figure out how in the world we were going to hang a billion pound pinata. Nonetheless, it was a huge hit and the kids loved taking their swing at it... not to mention the amount of candy that came pouring from it!)

Overall the most amazing thing about this little birthday party was watching my little guys have so much fun. I was able to see Andrew interact with his buddies in a new way as he would drop whatever he was doing at the moment and show compassion to the one that was sad. He has the biggest the heart! And as we sat coloring together I thought to myself how blessed I truly am to have been given such a wonderful and sweet little boy.

And Asher was more excited than I have ever seen him! He gripped his treat bag with such fervor that even opening his presents would not convince him to let go. At one point he went running through the house with two bags of candy in his hands screeching sheer happiness! I about died laughing.

 This party is truly one of my most favorite of family memories and I will treasure it forever.

Pink, Peach & White Baby Shower!

 

This past weekend a few of my closest friends threw an amazingly beautiful (and so tasty!) baby shower for a very sweet friend of mine. Thank you so much to Abby, Kortni & Megan for making this so special for Shay!

Baby Vera,  I hope you know how loved and prayed for you already are (and just how much I love your mommy!)

I wanted the shower to be beautiful, feminine and soft with lots of pink details.

 Tulle Pom Poms

(I created these using my own simplified version of this tutorial.)

But more than decorations and yummy food we use these special moments (baby & bridal showers alike) to display and teach about Christ's love. We do this in a variety of ways. The first is through these cute little Love Notes. We asked everyone to fill out a 'Love Note' for baby Vera. A prayer or favorite bible verse that Shay could put in Vera's baby book. We want Vera to know just how much she means to us and more importantly how much she is loved by God... even before she was born!

The second way we display Christ's love is through a time of devotion & prayer. I taught on this passage from Deuteronomy 11:18-19. It is a beautiful reminder of the responsibility we have as mothers who are striving to teach their children to love the Lord.

We use prayer cards like this and the guests volunteer to pray for the specific request listed on the card. Feel free to download these for the next shower you throw!

On to the details!

The menu was soups and salads with lots of yummy appetizers and desserts. 

The food was unbelievably amazing. Seriously.

 

 Homemade strawberry cupcakes.

We served strawberry lemonade out of mason jars made complete with these adorable pink & white paper straws.

 For tasty edible favors, our sweet friend Abby made these delightful chocolate covered pretzel sticks in pink, peach and white.

In lieu of games, we decided to get crafty instead! Abby (from Three Little Acorns) created a 'Make a Headband' station for baby Vera.  She made about a million flowers that were later crafted into headbands and clips by the guests at the party. (We saw this cute idea here.)
