Weekend Snapshot
FRIDAY Swimming with a friend all morning = looong afternoon nap | Pizza picnic on the living room floor + a movie (Aaron & I enjoyed our own movie and the Olympics after all the little ones were in bed.... We are wondering if we should make this a new Friday night tradition :))

SATURDAY Family snuggle time in bed | Bible + great book + coffee while my boys were at the pool = great start to any day | Deep cleaned the house | Work work work on my business (re-launch) and products that will be launching soooo soon! | Breakfast for dinner made by my sweet husband |  Swings and playground

SUNDAY Church | Olive Garden with sweet family | Work work work while the family naps | Drew Learns How to Ride His Bike!!! On a whim Aaron decided to take off his training wheels. Drew got it in just a couple of tries. I guess he was ready! haha | FroYo This family likes any excuse to celebrate. So, in honor of Drew riding his bike we headed out for frozen yogurt (and did a few happy dances at his big success! haha) |  Olympics We stayed up super late watching the Olympics' closing ceremonies. The boys got a big kick out of me singing and dancing to Spice Girls. | More work work work... Soon my friends! Very soon! :)

FRIDAY Played outside all morning, made our own water slide & blew countless bubbles (Adelee joined us in her bouncy seat.) | Pizza picnic on the living room floor + Puss & Boots (Aaron & I enjoyed our own movie and the Olympics after all the little ones were in bed.)
SATURDAY Shopping date for kindergarten supplies with my big boy | Relaxing by the pool with Aaron pretending to be Michael Phelps (sadly not pictured :)) | Set-Up at our church's new location (the YMCA)
SUNDAY Church!!! Our first Sunday in the new space was amazing! So encouraged by all the amazing volunteers who worked so hard to pull of this big transition for our growing church! | Olive Garden lunch date after church with our wonderful elders and their families. | Loooong naps + Olympics + easy dinner = restful Sunday afternoon

Weekend Snapshot
SATURDAY Rest (i.e. p.j.'s ALL day and multiple naps.
SUNDAY Home to Virginia | Flying with 3 little ones all by myself. (short flight but proud nonetheless. Especially when I managed to get all three sleeping at the same time. :) | Meet & Greet Baby Adelee My mom invited anyone and everyone over for a southern style potluck dinner. Yummy does not do it justice... | Cousins playing until wayyy past their bed times. Makes my heart happy.

There is something unbelievable sweet and heart-warming about a photo of your sweet granny's holding your baby girl. Love my granny's.

Weekend Snapshot: July 20-22

 Weekend Snapshot // Outreach (as a family) on USF's campus handing out icee pops to students | Busch Gardens (in the sweltering 100 degree heat!) for the afternoon. So MUCH fun! | Ice cream was the cool treat of choice post Busch Gardens (daddy ate Asher's after we realized there was absolutely no waking him (note the head on the car seat.) | Happy 1st Birthday party to our sweet little friend Austin (guitar themed of course. and included the cutest guitar cake ever.) | Church family practicing the new set-up for our (the church's) BIG move to the YMCA in two weeks. (this was done on Sunday evening after a looong morning of set-up and tear-down at our current facility for the Sunday morning service. i.e. We have the most amazing church family ever.)

Around Here.

We are adjusting to life as a family of 6 (-1 here on this side of heaven).
Everything takes just a bit more time and planning.

I am trying to figure out how to accomplish even the smallest of tasks each day and have not been super successful up to this point. ha. My husband suggested that I write a blog post about what it looks like to be a working mama. I told him as soon as I figure that out I'll definitely write one. :)

My daily prayer is to be focused and intentional. I feel a bit frazzled so to be either one of those would be a huge answer to prayer.

And currently I am very inspired by this (and another) little notebook I found 

while aimlessly wandering the aisles of Target. 

Love it.

This past Sunday our church ordained and sent out two church planters. It was amazing.

So encouraged by their faithfulness to God, His mission, to their wives and little ones and to the church.

I pretty much spend my days staring at this little face. Love her.

California Vacay!

Who takes a 2 week old baby across the country for 9 days? 

Better yet, who calls that a vacation? ha.

Aaron and I are absolutely that crazy. 

The church planting network we are a part of had their annual pastors' retreat in Newport Beach, California just a few short weeks after we had our 4th little baby. We had decided toward the end of the pregnancy that whether I am at home or in California life pretty much looks the same, sleepless and a walking refrigerator. So, why not be that in one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in the country? :)

We extended our stay for a few days after the retreat to enjoy some time together and to spend quality time with family and friends that we rarely are able to see (Aaron is from southern California.)

It was perfect. 

We stayed in the most beautiful and amazing hotel, we ate amazing food, talked until the wee hours of the morning, loved on our baby girl, and did the most fun touristy things (which I know Aaron did just because he loves me... and I totally appreciate that sweet gift. :) )

Adelee is One (Month!)

We celebrate in this family. We celebrate even the smallest of milestones and the most seemingly of mundane moments. We celebrate because each day and experience truly is a gift.

As a parent it is easy to wish away those sleepless nights and the first few days of sheer confusion when you wonder if this is what the rest of your life will be like. :) However, after losing Aaden, even the difficulty of sleepless nights and unending crying are beautiful... because it means you have a baby in your arms to love and care for. We know first hand just how fragile life can be so we choose to enjoy and celebrate each and every milestone.

So, happy one month baby girl!

p.s. We are trusting that you will 'heart' daddy soon too. I think his beard is just a bit too prickly for you to be able to enjoy all the millions of kisses he smothers you with on a daily basis.

I am thankful for the ways you love our boys and now our little lady too. I am thankful that you love Jesus and that you teach them about Him every day. Thank you for building endless amounts of leggo creations, for wrestling and playing splash-down (even though I hate it. :)) for making spontaneous Cherry Berry dates and for loving daddy-date-night so much. Thank you for getting the boys ready for bed every night and for ending each day with a Bible story and prayer time. Thank you for disciplining in love and for teaching them how to do life. Thank you for teaching them how to love their mommy and sister and how to one day love a wife and be a daddy. You are amazing and I thank God for you every single day.

The first picture above was created by simply printing out the letters to spell 'We Love You' then cutting them down to their individual letters and adhering a length of twine to the letters to create a cute garland with a special message. Then I took a picture, printed and framed it. 

We sent the photo to all the grandpa's to let them know how loved they are on this sweet holiday.

We wouldn't be the people, spouses, or parents we are today without their love and guidance.

I hope they know how much they are loved by us. 

The second set of photos I created for Aaron. I printed out the letters 'D' and 'A', framed them and took a photo of each little one with a letter to spell out 'Dad.' I placed the photos in a floating frame to create quite the little masterpiece that daddy will cherish forever. I'm thinking this would be super cute to recreate each year as the little ones grow....

Happy 5th Birthday Andrew!

Happy Birthday sweet boy.

What a year it has been.

You started preschool.

Mommy cried your first day and as I drove away I called your daddy to let him know that you would not be staying there. I just couldn't imagine you spending your days with anyone but me. Daddy lovingly and very patiently said, 'well, let's at least give it a week.' Of course we did and of course you did great and of course your teachers were amazing.

You made great friends and learned so much.

I am grateful for your sweet little preschool and how they loved you this past year.

As a family we faced some pretty big stuff this year and as always you handled all the transition and confusion like such a big boy.

You became a big brother again and you are quite enamored with your little sister. Asking for her first thing every morning and getting irritated with me when I don't tend to her right away when she's crying. You are quite the little leader in our home as Asher watches every move you make and loves to follow your example.

And the biggest, most important and amazing event of this past year was that you became a Christian! You told daddy that you loved Jesus with your whole heart and that you wanted Him to be the boss of your life. And on January 23rd you prayed with daddy in the parking lot of your preschool to ask Jesus to live in your heart forever. 

My prayer is that you never know a day that you did not love Jesus,

that He grows you into a leader among leaders,

that you will one day love your wife and children well, pointing them to Jesus, 

and that He will change the world through you.

p.s. As a new birthday tradition, each year we will be asking you the same set of 20 questions. We got a big laugh out of your answers this year and I am sure we will get some big laughs in the future too!
