Font Love: Rosewood

A font favorite recently has been Rosewood. Use it sparingly as a title or an accent and it becomes a wonderful feature. I used this font for the Father's Day cards our church gave to our wonderful dad's on Father's Day. When used correctly, I think it communicates strength and wisdom. What do you this font say to you? Or am I just crazy and the only one that 'hears' anything from well-designed letters.... ha.

I loved how the cards turned out. We gave each dad a card and a candy bar wrapped in red ribbon.
Adorable... in it's own manly way, don't you think?

Recipe: Old Glory Dessert

Old Glory Dessert
One of my favorite 4th of July recipes!

Ingredients

• 1 tube (18 ounces) refrigerated sugar cookie dough
• 2 packages (one 8 ounces, one 3 ounces) cream cheese, softened
• 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
• 4-1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
• 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
• 2 cups quartered fresh strawberries

Directions

1. Press cookie dough into a greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
2. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar and lemon juice until smooth. Set aside 1/4 cup. Spread remaining cream cheese mixture over crust.Decorate with blueberries and strawberries to resemble a flag.
3. Cut a small hole in a corner of a pastry or plastic bag. Insert star tip #16. Fill with reserved cream cheese mixture. Beginning in one corner, pipe stars in the spaces between the blueberries. Yield: 12-15 servings. Old Glory Dessert Reci

Weekend Wardrobe: Errands

{Errand Girl}

I spent the weekend running errands getting ready for Father's Day as well as our Colorado vacation (as we speak I am in Vail, Colorado surrounded by absolute beauty that is seriously breathtaking...) I do like to appear that my life is somewhat together when I leave my house and the easiest way to do that is with a cute tank top and a couple accessories like the ones above.

Red & white striped tank with solid black cuffed shorts. Black flat sandals and yellow handbag are made complete with little silver and black accessories. Perfect for running all over town!
