It was career day in kindergarten and you were to dress up as a member of your chosen profession. That morning as I donned my Fisher Price stethoscope and my mothers white blazer jacket, I declared to my family that I was going to be a NURSE when I grew up..... I've come full circle and 2 years ago I completed my Masters degree in Nursing. I love my job and I love giving compassionate care to my patients. I made a good call all those years ago!

Call it indecisiveness, ADD, or imaginative, but I always thought I was a child of variety :) I can remember telling my mother (at one point or another) all the things that I wanted to be when I grew up... a teacher, a policeman, a mommy, a ballerina, an eyedoctor, a missionary, and the list goes on and on. The funniest dream I ever had came about after my high-school class took a trip to our local technical school. I came home and announced that I knew what I truly wanted to do... I wanted to go into Masonry and lay bricks and stone for a living!! Just imagine the look on my Mother's face. Needless to say, I did not take up that endeavor... although I have, and continue to, enjoy the many flavors of life!

My dream. For a short time in college, I wanted to be the Secretary of Education. That hasn't worked out. But I will, Lord willing, be living in DC for a few months next year. And I do a lot of secretarial work for my family. And I educate my kids. So there, ambitious college self.
